The Fowl Farmer is excited to once again provide fresh J.D. Farms speciality turkeys available for pickup at the Southlands Tsawwassen Red Barn for THANKSGIVING this October!
All turkeys must be pre-ordered prior to the pickup date at Southlands Tsawwassen Red Barn. The turkeys will be available for pickup on Thursday, October 8th from 4:00-5:30pm inside the Red Barn.

Who are we?
The Fowl Farm is a family owned and operated market located on our home piece of land in Richmond, B.C. We take pride in delivering fresh, local poultry products to our customers. That comes with a choice of a fresh daily deli case stocked with fresh chicken in a variety of cuts, or something from our freezers. We also have a large selection of B.C. Artisan products that are incredible, as well as fresh produce, local frozen bison and bison burgers, homemade fruit pies, Avalon dairy products and organic ice cream, and so much more. We are open daily and have been serving Richmond since 2012!
We have been selling fresh J.D. Farms turkeys during the holidays for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter for many years in store, but in partnership with Southlands we offer one extra pickup option for the residents of Tsawwassen.
Turkey information:
Turkeys raised under the JD Farms specialty turkey certification are fed a natural diet of non-GMO grain, vitamins and minerals without any antibiotics or animal by-products. The turkeys are raised in spacious, well-ventilated barns with free access to fresh water and a constant supply of fresh feed. Special care and diet bring about the highest quality and exceptional flavor.
We take orders in size ranges - we will do our very best to accommodate a specific size request, however we won’t know exactly what we will have as the turkeys are still happily wandering around! Once our inventory arrives fresh a few days before pickup, we then match size requests in priority sequence based off the date ordered to our inventory. Please know we will take everyone’s requests into consideration when matching turkeys.
What size turkey do I need?
The general rule is a pound a person, allowing for a pound or two for the carcass. The bigger the turkey, the bigger the carcass! The amount of leftovers you would like depends on your preference. For those looking for a turkey over 20 pounds, we recommend ordering two smaller turkeys if you have the oven space. That way, you actually have more selection of light and dark meat as well!
